The Ai Zhe Luo Dreams musical ensemble was founded by Zekro Aflatuni (艾哲罗/Ai Zhe Luo) a well-known percussionist in China. Zekro has lived in Suzhou for the past 13 years, during which time he has been invited to perform for numerous occasions on Suzhou TV, Jiangsu TV, Henan TV, Beijing TV and CCTV. He has won first prizes for talent contests in Suzhou in 2002 and 2003, and in Jiangsu in 2006 and 2011, and has also represented the city of Suzhou in two major nationwide contests for which Suzhou won the first prizes: The Most Charming City contest on CCTV2 in 2004, and The Most Energetic City contest on CCTV2 in 2005.
He is joined in Ai Zhe Luo Dreams musical ensemble by four very talented young Chinese musicians, Xiaojin, Summer, Hua Hua and Melody, playing traditional Chinese instruments (yangqin, guzhen, erhu) and keyboard, accompanied by Zekro on traditional Iranian Drum (Tonbak) and African drum (Djembe). In January 2007, Ai Zhe Luo Dreams won first prize in a musical competition in the Yangtze River Delta, and during the Shanghai World Expo 2010 performed at the Suzhou Pavilion, Finnish Pavilion and Iranian Pavilion singing and playing Chinese, Finnish and Iranian music.
Combining Persian and African style drumming with the melodious sounds of traditional Chinese instruments, the Ai Zhe Luo Dreams musical ensemble creates a rich World Music sound that is unique in China’s music scene and not to be missed!
